JNC: Comparative predictors of mortality among patients referred for stress SPECT versus PET myocardial perfusion imaging (Jan/Feb2024)
Course Overview

This Journal CME activity will compare the clinical usage and outcomes associated with SPECT versus PET myocardial perfusion imaging in a high volume multimodality imaging laboratory and discuss the clinical trade-off when considering utilization of these two commonly used stress myocardial perfusion imaging modalities.

Target Audience
This activity is targeted at imaging professionals and is intended to provide the latest information on clinical practice and cutting-edge scientific advances in nuclear cardiology and cardiac imaging.
Learner Objectives

After reading and reflecting upon this article in the Journal Nuclear Cardiology, the learner should be able to:

  • Learn how the clincal utilization and clinical profiles of patients undergoing SPECT versus PET-MPI compared among a high-volume multmodality imaging laboratory.
  • Understand the most potent predictors of clinical outcomes among patients undergoing stress/rest SPECT and PET-MPI.
  • Understand the relative advantages versus disadvantages in performing stress/rest SPECT versus PET-MPI.
  • Learn of future trends that may blend the clinical measurements afforded by SPECT versus PET-MPI.
Overall Goal
The purpose of this CME activity in the Journal of Nuclear Cardiology is to increase the learners’ competence in the application of nuclear cardiology strategies in clinical practice.
