Course Overview
This Journal CME activity will provide an understanding of the role of nuclear cardiology in diagnosis and risk stratification of coronary microvascular disease 
Target Audience
This activity is targeted at imaging professionals and is intended to provide the latest information on clinical practice and cutting-edge scientific advances in nuclear cardiology and cardiac imaging.
Learner Objectives

After reading and reflecting upon this article in the Journal Nuclear Cardiology, the learner should be able to:

  • Recognize the changing presentation of coronary artery disease (CAD) and increasing prevalence of patients symptomatic with ischemia due to nonobstructive coronary artery disease (INOCA).  
  • Appreciate the contribution of coronary microvascular disease to symptoms and a worse prognosis in patients with CAD, nonischemic cardiomyopathies and heart failure.
  • Diagnose coronary microvascular disease using coronary flow reserve (CFR) measured with positron emission tomography/computed tomography.
Overall Goal
The purpose of this CME activity in the Journal of Nuclear Cardiology is to increase the learners’ competence in the application of nuclear cardiology strategies in clinical practice.
