Amiloidosis Cardíaca en América Latina: Situación Actual y Perspectivas

Overview
The program will consist of an internet live webinar with accompanying Lesson Books and Case Compendium. Leading experts will provide the fundamental concepts allowing healthcare providers (HCPs) to optimize patient care by enhancing disease awareness, referral for diagnostic testing, and initiation of targeted transthyretin (ATTR) amyloidosis therapies. The webinar will also provide insights to support and expand development of cardiac amyloidosis programs within Latin America.
Target Audience
The target audience includes all HCPs across Latin American who encounter patients with suspected and known ATTR, and those who desire to establish a multidisciplinary amyloidosis program at their institution. This group of multidisciplinary specialists include general cardiologists, heart failure specialists, nuclear cardiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, neurologists, hematologists, primary care, and imaging technologists.
Learner Objectives
At the end of this activity learners should be able to:
• Explore the current status of testing for cardiac amyloidosis in Latin America
• Increase awareness for cardiac amyloidosis among healthcare providers in Latin America
• Understand the signs and symptoms of cardiac amyloidosis
• Review the role of nuclear cardiology in the diagnosis of ATTR-CM
• Summarize the diagnostic evaluation for cardiac amyloidosis including the differential diagnosis
• Provide details of Tc-99m PYP including imaging protocol, semi-quantitative and quantitative scoring, interpretation, and components of an appropriate report
Overall Goal
The overall goal of this first webinar is to establish an understanding among Latin American countries of the need for ongoing education related to the epidemiology of the disease and identification of patients at risk for cardiac amyloidosis, the role of nuclear scintigraphy in diagnosing patients and the important information provided by an integrated method for diagnosis.
