JNC: Potential novel imaging targets of inflammation in cardiac sarcoidosis (September/October 2022)
Course Overview
This Journal CME activity will provide an understanding of the importance of potential novel imaging targets of inflammation in cardiac sarcoidosis.
Target Audience
This activity is targeted at imaging professionals and is intended to provide the latest information on clinical practice and cutting-edge scientific advances in nuclear cardiology and cardiac imaging.
Learner Objectives

After reading and reflecting upon this article in the Journal Nuclear Cardiology, the learner should be able to:

  • Understand the current techniques to mitigate the current limitations of FDG-PET in the diagnosis of CS
  • Know the different mechanisms of novel imaging probes for the diagnosis of CS
    • Somatostatin-receptor-based imaging
    • Proliferation-based imaging
    • Chemokine-receptor-based imaging
    • Cell microenvironment imaging
  • Have a basic understanding of the pre-clinical, clinical, and comparative data on the use of novel nuclear imaging markers for the diagnosis of CS
Overall Goal
The purpose of this CME activity in the Journal of Nuclear Cardiology is to increase the learners’ competence in the application of nuclear cardiology strategies in clinical practice.
