Cardiac Amyloidosis OnDemand
Course Overview
ASNC has developed a 3-module CME accredited Cardiac Amyloidosis OnDemand to provide an overview of the disease, review the role of multimodality imaging, provide a case-based discussion of the use of technetium-99m pyrophosphate imaging in identifying transthyretin cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM) and discuss the various treatment options with a focus on heart failure. Each module contains 2 video presentations from leading experts discussing the diagnosis, treatment and management of patients with cardiac amyloidosis.
Target Audience
The Cardiac Amyloidosis OnDemand is targeted to general cardiologists, nuclear cardiologists, multimodality imagers, heart failure specialists, nuclear medicine physicians and radiologists, neurologists and primary care physicians.
Learner Objectives
After participating in this activity, learners should be able to achieve the following:

• Describe amyloidosis, including specific types, cardiac features and disease burden
• Identify barriers to identification and diagnosis of patients suspected of ATTR CA
• Recognize patients at risk for hereditary ATTR CA and wild-type ATTR CA
• Summarize the diagnostic evaluation for CA including the differential diagnosis
• Provide details of Tc-99m PYP including imaging protocol, semi-quantitative and quantitative scoring, interpretation and components of an appropriate report
• Demonstrate understanding of current treatments for patients with ATTR CA
Statement of Need
The following gaps in practice have been identified to demonstrate the learner’s need for the skills and strategies presented in this journal continuing education activity: Disease awareness and timely diagnosis of ATTR are lacking; Awareness of contemporary diagnostic methods for cardiac amyloidosis is limited among physicians; Knowledge about heart failure management in cardiac amyloidosis and novel therapies is lacking.
