CME Symposium: Cardiovascular PET: Moving into F-18 Myocardial Perfusion Imaging CME Claim
Overall Goal
Cardiac PET is the future of nuclear cardiology and optimal management decisions for patients. This CME Symposium will discuss the clinical value of PET and the importance and approaches to incorporating it into everyday clinical practice and provide the Call to Action for nuclear cardiology to remain competitive in the future. This program will address the value of transitioning from SPECT to PET and address considerations for including F-18 labelled myocardial perfusion tracers in clinical practice. Measurement of myocardial blood flow adds significant clinical information obtained from a PET study and is essential for patient management decisions. Expectations from measurement of myocardial blood flow from F-18 labelled tracers will be discussed. The program will close with a discussion of the impact of F-18 MPI tracers on hybrid imaging and expansion of cardiac PET worldwide.
Target Audience
This activity is intended for cardiologists, nuclear cardiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, radiologists, and nuclear cardiology and nuclear medicine technologists practicing in the field of nuclear cardiology.
Learning Objectives

After participating in this activity, learners will be able to:

•            Define the clinical value of cardiac PET across a diversity of clinical scenarios
•            Describe the added value of MBF and MBFR
•            Analyze recent clinical trial data and the impact of new tracers for cardiac PET
•            Identify important factors impacting the growth of cardiac PET worldwide

Accreditation and Continuing Education Credit

The American Society of Nuclear Cardiology is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Physicians: The American Society of Nuclear Cardiology designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Participants can earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit. To receive 1.5 MOC points for participating in this activity, you must be a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and you must have an ABIM account. If you have not yet established an online account, you will need to visit the ABIM at www.abim.org, or contact ABIM via phone by calling: 1-800-441-ABIM or 215-446-3590. Mon - Fri 8:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. ET, Sat 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. ET
