NCKSAP: Risk Stratification, 3rd edition
Course Overview
This is a self-assessment CME activity in online format consisting of 30 multiple-choice questions. Each question includes an answer rationale and references for further studying. This module will be updated every 3 years. It is designed for practitioners who are performing nuclear imaging studies and want to increase their competence for certification, recertification or general practice improvement.
Target Audience
This activity is designed for nuclear cardiology physicians.
Learner Objectives
Upon completion of this module, the learner will be able to:
  • Identify imaging variables that predict prognosis (perfusion defect size; ischemic defect size; LVEF and volumes; etc.)
  • Identify stress test variables (Duke treadmill score, exercise time, symptoms, heart rate recovery, degree of ST depression, etc.)
  • Define the of extent of ischemia and benefit of revascularization
  • Discuss the implications of low risk with normal stress study (<1%)
  • Explain high-risk parameters (depressed LV function, TID, post‐stress stunning, large perfusion defects, etc.)
Overall Goal
The overall goal of this activity is to provide a comprehensive review of nuclear cardiology imaging procedures and best practices and increase physicians’ competence and performance in their ability to improve cardiovascular disease outcomes.
